The Mandate

ElectroSolutions was mandated to devise and program an integrated vision quality control system for the assembly lines of a major juice manufacturer.

Among the objectives that needed to be achieved, ElectroSolutions had to enable the company to address two specific issues: ensuring the level of fluid per bottle and making sure the latch ring remained intact and properly positioned at +/- 0.5 mm precision

 

THE SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED

ElectroSolutions developed personalized software linked to two cameras that allowed the inspection of up to 400 units (bottles) and the rejecting from the assembly line of bottles that did not meet the standards.

The software allows the user to generate statistical reports and images of the rejected bottles in swift fashion so that adjustments to the production process can be made, if need be.

RESULTS

• The adding of a vision detection system resulted in almost the complete elimination of rejects before the bottles left the production area.
• In fact, the traditional inspection method was no match for the solution provided by ElectroSolutions in terms of cost/volume.
• The system also resulted in the considerable reduction of the percentage of returns from retailers.
